Here at Inter-City we often remind each other of the three commitments that should drive our life as a church body: 1) an upward commitment to worship; 2) an outward commitment to evangelism and discipleship; and 3) an inward commitment to fellowship and edification. The Sunday AM sermon videos are designed to aid us in our inward commitment to edify the body.

To view the most recent Sunday message, visit the ICBC media page. This page will be updated with the latest sermon by Tuesday of the following week. To view previous sermons, click the “Inter-City Baptist Media” link or the “click here to view previous sermons on Vimeo.com” link below the video on the media page. You can also visit the Inter-City Baptist Media page directly on Vimeo.com every week to view the sermon.

At the ICB Media Vimeo page you can sort the videos by date, most played, most commented, etc. You can view the videos in thumbnail format or detail format (this reveals the passage covered, title, date, etc.) You can also click the “search these videos” to search by key words (e.g. “1 Corinthians” to view sermons from the series on 1 Corinthians.) Another way of sorting the sermons is to click on the yellow “Albums” button on the main ICB Media page. Future sermon series will be categorized in their own album. In order to add comments below the videos you must have a Vimeo account. Signing up for a basic Vimeo account is free.

You can do a lot more than just view the ICBC sermons on Vimeo. If you hover your mouse over the upper right hand corner of the video, several buttons appear. To “like” the video (similar to Facebook’s “like” button”) you must have a Vimeo account (they are free). Once you have an account you can also click the “Watch it Later” button to add it to a list of videos to view later. To share the video with others, click the “share” button. In the window that pops up you can type in email addresses and send a personal recommendation to your friends or you can share the video on several web services, including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and more. Lastly, if you have a blog or website, you can embed the sermon video directly onto your site. Click the “embed” button and copy the code into your blog/website managing program.

In addition to viewing the sermon videos on a computer, you can also watch them on a mobile device such as an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, and Palm or on your TV. (More info on supported devices for Vimeo.)

Obviously, this resource does not replace the value of attending the morning services and worshipping with the church body, but we trust that it will be helpful for members who are not able to attend a Sunday morning service for various reasons (e.g. nursery, business travel, illness, vacation, etc.). The videos are also a great way to review and meditate on the content of the Sunday sermon if you did hear it live.

If you have any questions about this resource, please direct them to Tim Aynes, pastoral assistant (email: video (at) intercity.org; office #: 313.928.5222).
